Client: The Salvation Army New Zealand Trust

Te Hononga Tāngata was designed to give people the security of a home, while also growing a community.  The Salvation Army wanted to utilize the space they had available in the best possible way to create a feeling of community.

The finished project includes 55 spacious one and two-bedroom apartments across three 3 & 5 level buildings, green spaces, a community garden and “bump spaces” - where people naturally meet each other.

The buildings are constructed using Precast and In-situ concrete.  These also include Aluminium louvres and portions of fibre cement and profiled metal cladding.

Works commenced May 2018, with the official opening, by Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, taking place on the 8th November 2019.
