Project

Massey Consumer Sensory Facility

Address:  Tennent Drive, Palmerston North

Cost: $1.7 million

Client: Massey University

The work involved partial demolition of an existing internal fitout, redundant services and removal of some doors on the exterior wall of the building.

A new internal layout with services run both in the ceiling space and under the concrete slab, with new framing/acoustic walls and the replacement of all the existing services.  The new functions of the fitout are to provide spaces for the preparation and testing of food samples, with a kitchen for preparation of the food samples, testing booths where the food is passed through hatches from the kitchen and meeting spaces.

There was also an upgrade to the accessible route into and through the entire building, including a new compliant accessible toilet constructed with an upgrade to the existing toilet facilities.
